e-progress file Background
• Loughborough College was the lead
institution for the one of the MLEs for
Lifelong Learning Programme JISC funded
project looking at “Developing Learning &
Teaching Aspects of Progress File and The
Personal Development Profile Across FE &
HE”
e-progress file Background
• Our immediate partners in the project were the
Loughborough University, RNIB College as we
all are sited next to each other in Loughborough
• Outcomes of the project:
• Interoperability – transfer of data from FE to HE
• Accessibility is an important aspect in order for
all our students to gain access to the
information but particularly so for our visually
impaired students
What is e-progress file?
• e-progress file is the next stage in the
development of the previous paper based
progress file. Recently announced by DfES
that paper based materials will be withdrawn
in England. This will necessitate the use of eprogress files.
• It allows learners to reflect on their
performance, develop an understanding of
their skills, evaluate their abilities and plan for
their future.
