slavery subverted the “American dream”. During the same

My opinion
• My opinion about Abraham Lincoln is that he was a hard
working guy and he never gave up. For example, all those
times he ran for a certain job and lost he never sat there
and complained he got knocked down but then got right
back up again. Now a days we need more people in our
society who work hard and don’t give up. Abraham
Lincoln was a big help to our society.
Lincoln and Slavery
• Lincoln always despised the idea of slavery. In 1860
Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United
States. In December of 1861 Abraham Lincoln urged the
border of states to voluntarily emancipate their slaves. In
January 1st of 1863 the Emancipation Proclomation went
went into effect, all the slaves in the confederate territory.
Then in June of 1864 the Fugitive Slave Law was passed.
