The Science of Volleyball
By: Ashley Pilarte
Class: 806
Introduction to Science of
Volleyball
• The reason I chose
volleyball was
because that is a
fun sport.
• The other reason I
chose volley ball
was because you
could play it any
where.
Potential Energy
• Potential energy is
when there is
energy
stored.example in
volley when they are
making a plan they
are storing energy.
Stored energy
• Ex:
1. car at red light
2. roller coaster at
top of hill
3. holding a ball
Kinetic Energy
•
•
•
•
Energy in motion
Ex:
1. car driving
2. roller coaster
going down
• 3. dropping ball
Digestive System
• The digestive
system move
mechanically
digests food to give
our body energy.
Respiratory System
• The respiratory
system it use energy
to clean our
incoming air and
gets oxygen into our
body.
Circulatory System
• The circulatory
system it needs
energy to pump the
blood throughout the
body.
Excretory System
• It uses energy to
release water heat,
and salt from the
body. Energy is
needed to keep this
system working
Muscular System
• It uses energy to
make our body
move it uses
mechanical energy
contract our body
move .volley ball
players need strong
muscles.
Electric Energy
• Is the negative and
positive charges
that’ makes
electricity.
Energy Transformation
• The food we have
has chemical. That
chemical energy
could turn into
mechanical
energy.the
mechanical energy
makes the volley
ball player move.
Conserving Energy
It good to save energy
for the volley ball
players cause when
they waist energy.
Newton’s 1st Law of Motion
• Something will keep
moving unless force
stops it.
• the ball will keep
moving unless the
volley ball player
stops it.
Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion
• The greater the
force the more
something moves.
• The greater the
player moves the
hand the faster the
ball moves .
Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion
For every action the
amount of force you
hit it the farther it go.
The more hard you hit
it will go farther
when you hit it.
Conclusion
• They are related to
science cause they
have to see how far
you go with your
hand.
