What is Blood Made of?
RED BLOOD CELLS
Carries oxygen
to all cells in the
body
WHITE BLOOD
CELLS
They are the body´s
“soldiers” and they
attack germs to
protects us.
HOW DOES BLOOD
WORK
When you cut yourself
White Blood cells (soldiers)
move where the germs are and
destroy them.
Platelets make a web
to close the hole made
by the cut.

What does the heart do?


About the size of clenched fist.
A very powerful muscle (cardiac
muscle) that pumps blood
through its chambers to all parts
of the body by cycles of
contracting and relaxing.

heart
What do Veins do?
VEINS:
carries blood
BACK to the
heart
What do Capillaries do?
CAPILLARIES:
CONNECTS arteries
to veins, this is
where the exchange
of oxygen and carbon
dioxide happens
