The Science of basketball

Introduction to Science of
basketball
• One reason that I
chose basketball
was because I love
playing basketball,
and reason two I
always wanted to do
a project basketball
Potential Energy
• Potential energy can
be thought of as
energy stored within
a physical system. A
example of potential
energy is a
basketball player
about to shoot.
Kinetic Energy
• Kinetic energy of an
object is the extra
energy which it
Prossesses due to
its motion. An
example of kinetic
energy is that when
a basketball player I
bouncing the ball.
Digestive System
• The digestive system is
made up of the
digestive tract a series
of hollow organs joined
in a long, twisting tube
from the mouth to the
anus and other organs
that help the body break
down and absorb food.
Basketball player need
this to play hard.
Respiratory System
• The respiratory
system uses energy
to clean incoming
air, gets oxygen into
our body, and
remove carbon
dioxide.
Circulatory System
• The circulatory
system needs
energy to pump the
blood throughout the
body.
Excretory System
• The excretory
system is the
system of an
organism’s body that
• Performs the
functions of
excretion.
Muscular System
• The muscular
system is the
anatomical system
of a species is one
that allows it to
move.
Electric Energy
• Electrical engineering
sometimes referred to
as electrical and
electronic engineering
is an engineering filed
that deals with the study
and application of
electricity, electronics
and electromagnetis.
Energy Transformation
• The respiratory
system uses energy
to clean incoming
air, gets oxygen into
our body, and
remove carbon
dioxide.
Conserving Energy
• So that you could
run faster..
• So that you can’t run
out of air.
Newton’s 1st Law of Motion
• Object will keep
moving unless a
force stops it.
• The ball will keep
moving unless a
player stops it.
Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion
• The alteration of motion
is ever proportional to
the motive force
impressed and Is made
in the direction of the
right line in which that
force is impressed.
• The more force you
used the farther the ball
goes.
Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion
• The mutual actions of
two bodies upon each
other are always equal,
and directed to contrary
parts.
• In basketball the
amount of force you
dribble the ball down
will be the amount of
force that bounces up
Conclusion
• In basketball
science I learned
that the force you
dribble that will be
the amount of force
that bounces right
back up.
