• Made friends with other tribes who did not
like the Aztecs. They looked forward to
fighting the Aztec
Who was Montezuma II?
• Aztec Ruler from 1500 to 1520.
• Conquered by Cortes
• Believed that Cortes was a god-like being and
welcomed Cortes into the city.
• Cortes took Montezuma hostage and ruled for some
time while Montezuma was a prisoner in his palace.
• 1520- fight broke out and Montezuma was killed by
the Spanish

• Spanish wiped out much of the Inca culture
and ruled for 300 yrs.
