– A mural is any form of painting on a wall or rock
surface
– Public art, meant to be large and seen by the masses
– In Mexico, Diego Rivera and Jose Orozco were major
muralists during the 1920’s and 1930’s
• Mostly painted on political issues

from the peasants, who were forced to work for little or no wage.
