Team Projects
There will be four subprojects, leading up to the ability to
enter an order into a merchant server (Web browser to Web
server to ecommerce engine to ecommerce database);
transmit the order to a distant system via the extranet using
MQSeries as the transport mechanism and XML as the
message format; updating the distant system by accepting
the messages and storing in a database; and having the
distant system respond with order status information via the
same technology mechanisms to enable the merchant server
to display the order status.

Project One
Configure a merchant server (probably Net.Commerce) to
create a simple store with catalog. Demonstrate ability to
accept orders. Show the order status. Use the B2B features.

Project Two
Work with a messaging middleware (MQSeries). Set up a
program to send a message. Set up the trigger monitor to
launch a receiving program that will read the message and
demonstrate reception.

Project Three
Implement a simple extranet involving a database on each
end, whereby end to end communication is established using
MQSeries as the transport mechanism and XML is the
message format protocol. Use C++ programs to: extract data
from database, apply XML Document Type Definition for
message format, call MQAPI to transmit. Use MQ Trigger
monitor to launch 2nd program on receiving end, extract
message, parse XML format, insert message in database.
Demonstrate message arrival by executing SQL against 2nd
database.

Project Four
Configure the merchant server to accept orders with a
simple catalog. Transmit orders to remote system database
via extranet. Remote system should reply with order status.
Display of order status will be done by query to the
merchant server.
This project should build on projects one, two, and three.
