Reasons:
Reasons the people did not want him to be elected:
When he got elected he was going to take away the
peoples slaves. Slaves where big in the South's
economy there for the people would be with out jobs.
Acts:
What did the people do to try to get him not elected:
The people wrote death threats letters and drew pictures of
Abraham hanging to the Lincoln family.
What did the people do once he was elected?
When he was elected the people that were for slaves
declared war before he could take the slaves away. The
union was Northern states that were not for slavery and the
Confederacy was for slavery and it was southern states.
Result
What was the result of Abraham Lincoln’s election?
His election resulted in the civil war, Abraham lead
the Union side. Him and his troops where against
slavery.
Big Picture
How did the Election of Abraham cause the civil war?
When Abraham Lincoln was elected he was going to
make slavery illegal, there for people would not have
jobs since slaves worked as farmers and factory
works. To rebel of this life changing act the people
wanted war to fight to keep their slaves, so that is
what started the Civil War.
