How he lived
• His family was very wealthy.
At 6 years old he began playing the
piano.
He went away to music school in
St.Petersburg.
Published his first piano piece at age
12.
He went to military school and joined
the army.
What he did for a living
• He was one of the Russian composers
known as “The Five”.
He tried to make a living as a
composer, but it was difficult.
So he worked for the
government.
• He composed in his spare time.
When he died
• He died March 28,1881 from alcoholism
and seizures.
My favorite video
“Night on Bald Mountain” is our favorite
because it sounds dark and mystical.
His music
• He wrote instrumental music, songs,
and several operas.
His family lost all their money.
