Consensus voice:
“A tender, tangy and wild tale in
a kooky convergence of music,
memory and male bonding
blues. And a movie truly about
lasting impressions, where
you're very likely to laugh till you
cry, when not the other way
around”

 A celebration of the trials,
joys and value of friendship
Friendship should last a lifetime, but isn’t it weird how
things, like money, can divide it? This is why poet
Samuel Johnson so wisely stated that we “should
keep friendships in constant repair.” Friendships, like
marriages, require work. Friendships are so worth the
effort, as songwriter Thomas Moore reminds us, “To
the soul, there is hardly anything more healing than
friendship.”

Soul Men celebrates friendship. Mark Twain had it
right when he humorously said, “The holy passion of
Friendship is of so sweet and steady and loyal and
enduring a nature that it will last through a whole
lifetime, if not asked to lend money.”

2 THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT
FRIENDSHIP
Don't flatter yourself that friendship
authorizes you to say disagreeable
things to your intimates.
1. The nearer you come into relation
with a person, the more necessary
do tact and courtesy become.
2. Except in cases of necessity, which
are rare, leave your friend to learn
unpleasant things from his
enemies; they are ready enough to
tell them.
--Oliver Wendell Holmes

“Friendship is born at that
moment when one person says
to another: What! You too? I
thought I was the only one”
--C. S. Lewis
