Ludwig van Beethoven
1770 - 1827
L. van Beethoven, one of the world’s greatest
composers, was born in Germany in a
musician’s family. His father was his first
teacher. Ludwig began to play the piano in
his early childhood. Then he studied music in
Vienna. He wrote symphonies, overtures,
concerts. Beethoven had a stormy
temperament that’s why his music was
passionate and overwhelming. At the peak
of his career, he began to lose his hearing.
But it didn’t interfere with his ability to
compose. He wrote one of his most powerful
compositions – the Ninth Symphony – after
he became completely deaf.
