Cultural Diversity growth?
Learning Outcomes
Increase Self-Awareness of biases-
personal mindsets
Increase understanding of different
cultural/diversity mindsets in others
Increase on willingness to expose
ourselves to Cultural Diversity
growth
A definition of Culture:
Culture is a combination
of thoughts, feelings,
attitudes, beliefs, values
and behavior patterns
that are shared by a
racial, ethnic, religious
or social group*
*(Family Development Credential, Claire Forest Cornell
University)
What is diversity?
All the possible ways we
are different…
What is a bias?
It is a strong opinion about something or
someone. We can biased in favor or biased
against it.
In either case we may have some facts to support
our position but a bias is based more on feelings
and opinions than on facts…
Adapted from “Understanding bias” Thinking Skills by Rinehart and Winston.

people that I would not normally will
choose as a friend?
