Some cultural changes are caused by
internal forces (attitudes)
Other cultural changes result from
outside influences (new technologies,
travel and communication)
For many years, Atlantic Canada
developed with input from 3 main
groups: Aboriginal Peoples, the French,
and the British.

contributing to the culture, politics, economy,
and social life.

are the same is known as a
stereotype.
A view based on previously held ideas,
and not on knowledge or experience is
a prejudice.

discriminate, or treat unfairly.
Racism is the belief that a person’s
abilities, personalities, and values are
influenced by race, color, or ethnic
origin.

You will be required to create a slideshow
with a partner on “Racism” and how to
combat it. This show will be completed over
two computer lab periods and will be
presented to the class.
Requirements:
Use power point
Must contain a minimum of 6 slides

Slide 1 – title page: names, date, project, etc.
Slide 2 – define important terms regarding
racism.
Slide 3 – include some aspect of racism, a
problem, historical event, or story.
Slide 4 – provide the 3 ways of combatting
racism.
Slide 5 – include a picture regarding your
project
Slide 6 – include references to document

The project will be marked out of 10. 6 marks
for your show, and 4 for presentation.
