organization providing quality services to
people with developmental disabilities.
We are committed to providing these
services with integrity, sensitivity,

Decision Making
ODS’ philosophy is to assist our consumers in gaining the skills necessary to make
personal, acceptable decisions and overcome social barriers by providing:
Individualized training based on Consumer’s identified social needs.
Person-specific reinforcement.
Positive role-modelling.
Structured, in-house trainings utilize the support of peers and staff to develop
necessary social skills.
Positive guidance in actual, real-life situations.

team sport at ODS,
Soccer.
Softball
The Blue Sox (Navy) and The
Blue Sox (Royal) represent San
Joaquin County in softball.
Competitions occur in late
August and early September.
Bowling
Practices are from
late October to early
December.
Tournaments are
held in Sacramento,
CA in early
December.
Basketball
The Stockton Swarm practice
from December to April.
Swarm won Silver Medals at
the 2006 Basketball
Championships in
Sacramento, CA.

Employment Training
Assist individuals in identifying employment interests and
options.
Develop the skills they will need and use to acquire and
maintain employment in the community.
ODS Instructors and Job Coaches prepare our
consumers by providing training in the following areas:
Job Readiness
Focus on increasing ability to
identify employment
preferences and develop
positive attitudes towards
effective work habits.
Facilitate mock interviews,
assist in the application
process, help obtain proper
documentation and building
personal resumes.
Proper grooming and
hygiene preparation.
Employment
It is ODS’ philosophy that individuals obtain work
skills by actual experience through gainful
employment in the community.
Job Coaches are always provided to ensure proper
communication between employers and consumers,
as well as create and maintain quality work.
