Central Population Register (CPR)
the main source for population and social statistics in Norway

CPR includes all residents
All residents are registered in the CPR with a unique PIN
All immigrants are given a PIN when they register with the immigration authorities
All vital events are registered in the CPR
– Births, deaths, marriages
– National and international migration

And demographic characteristics
– Sex ,age, marital status, number of children, place of birth
– Citizenship, national background, and year of first immigration
•
All other national administrative registers based on individuals
use this PIN.
