Function
-Root hairs- Protection from a cell in the
epidermis near the end of a root of a plant,
greatly increases the surface area of a root.
• Meristem- Region of actively dividing cells
that give rise to all the other plant tissues.
• Root cap- Cover and protects the tip of a
root.
• Shoot- An aboveground part of a plant.
Function
• Vascular Cylinders- The endodermis
completely encloses the root’s vascular
subsystem.
• Ground tissue(Cortex)- Spongy layer of
ground tissue just inside the epidermis of a
root.
• Epidermis- Outer layer of the skin.
