Installation procedures
How to proceed?
• Bio-Rad has released service pack 10 (SP10) for
downloading from Internet
• It is recommended that you install SP10 as soon as possible.
• SP10 includes an update for the database and one for the
application itself. The database update has to be done only
once an preferably before the application is updated. Once
the database update has been install, proceed with updating
the application on all the workstation where Unity Real Time
has been installed.
• MAKE SURE NOBODY uses the program while you update
it.
To download SP10.
• In Unity Real Time select Tools|Setup.
• Check mark the option « Automatic product
update »
•Close the program and open it back up.
• Upon opening Unity Real Time will offer to update
to SP10 (you must have an active Internet
connection).
Install SP10
Unity Real Time suggest to download and install the update.
Note: This example was presented to update to SP8.
Update (Option 1) Only if you have
access to Internet.
• For immediate installation. Check mark both updates and click on the
‘Install’ button
• Both files will be downloaded and the update performed automatically.
Reboot your computer once the update is completed. The database
update can be done from any workstation. You do not need to update the
database from the server itself.
• When updating Unity Real Time from another workstation, the database
update will not be proposed. Check mark the application update and
install it.
• Repeat this procedure one each workstation where Unity Real Time has
been installed.
• This will only work if the workstation has access to an active Internet
connection.
Update (Option 2)
• Check mark both updates and click on the ‘Download’ button
• Determine where the update needs to be installed. You will
now download 3 files (from 2 ZIP files)
• The file URT1dbsp10.exe and URTdbUpdate10.sql are used
to update the database. The database update can be done
from any workstation. You do not need to update the
database from the server itself.
• Click on the URT1dbsp10.exe and wait for confirmation that
the database update was successful.
Update (Option 2) cont’d
• In the second ZIP file you will find the
UnityRT1SP10.exe. Execute this file on each workstation
where Unity Real Time has been installed.
• After a message indicates the update has been
completed, restart your computer and start using Unity
Real Time as usual.
• You can validate the update by selecting Help|About
Unity Real Time.
