Expectations
Welcome to the next 2 weeks of
Reading class!
Description
 With a PARTNER or two, you will be creating and
analyzing your own version of a “utopia.” Ultimately, you
will build an “advertisement” website for your utopia
trying to promote your society to the rest of the world.
 Your website will describe the expectations of the
citizens who inhabit your utopia as well as propaganda
techniques that will entice people to join.
Week 1- Preparation and Idea
Creation
 We will begin this project in the classroom. You will do all
written and preparation work before heading into the lab
all next week.
You will do all typing for your website AT HOME for HOMEWORK on a
Google Doc shared with your partner. Lab time is NOT to be
used to type up your work.
****If you do NOT type up your class work at home, you
will NOT finish your projects!****
Week 2-Website and Propaganda
Creation
 We will be in the Lab from Monday-Friday next week
 You will use that time to format your website, find pictures
for your pages, and create your technological options for
propaganda
 Be prepared to SHARE your site with the class after it is
created!
Partner Expectations
 You should exchange telephone numbers and email
addresses with your partner. If you will be absent, it is your
responsibility to phone your partner and let them know
what work was done in class
 You will each have a copy of the materials so if a partner is
absent, you don’t have to worry about all the work being
with that person. I will not accept a partner’s
absence as an excuse for being unprepared!
Google Doc Expectations
 Tonight ONE partner will be creating a Google Doc on
which to type your information from class. SHARE WITH
YOUR PARTNER and ME ([email protected])
 Do NOT type the questions on the organizers in your
Google Docs-just your responses. Make your responses
informational and make sense out of context
 Title your Google Doc period#_onelastname_utopiainfo
 You may use separate documents for each organizer or
one long document labeled with each organizer
