Jewish people
rebuilt the Temple of
Jerusalem for God
2200 years ago.
The story
• The Greeks had
outlawed Judaism in
Israel at the time
and the Jews had to
fight a battle to
capture Jerusalem
The Story
• When they reached
the temple they only
had enough oil to light
the lamps for 1 day,
through a miracle the
lamps remained lit for
8 days.
When is it?
• It starts at the 25th of
Kislev. The Hebrew
calendar is different to
ours, Kislev is usually
in late December.
