Judasim is
Unique
It is over 2,500 years old.
It’s the first time one God is worshipped.
The first of the “Abrahamic” faiths.
The Torah, is their holy book.
Abraham Makes a
Covenant (a Contract)
With God
Abraham is told his family will grow large, and
rule nations, if he moves from Ur, to Canaan.
Abraham leaves, and begins anew.
Abraham Follows God’s
Will
To test his faith, God commands Abraham to
kill his firstborn son, Isaac. Just before doing
so, Abraham is stopped, by an angel.
This proves his faith
to God, and he
becomes the father of
the Jewish nation.
Abraham’s Sons and
Grandsons become the
“Children of Israel
Thus begins the Jewish
nation.
Abraham, his son Isaac,
and grandson, Jacob are
considered the
“patriarchs” of Israel.
Jewish History is Full
of Incredible
Persecution
Enslaved all over the world.
Persecuted, exiled, and executed for their faith.
Victims of the Holocaust.
Being Jewish is an
Identity
It’s not a nationality.
It’s not a race of people.
It’s a cultural and religious identity.
Jews are from all races.
Many denominations.
If not born Jewish, one may become so
through study, and conversion.

Symbols
Yarmulke (head cap) – Worn in reverance,
during prayer, to show respect for God.
More Symbols
Menorah – A seven or nine-branched
candelabrum, and burning olive oil.
The Star of David
The symbol of Judaism since the 1400’s.
Anne Frank
Hid from the Nazi’s, in WWII.
Wrote a two year diary, while hiding, in
Amsterdam.
Was captured, put in a prison camp, and died
only one month before the end of the war.
