•
Ancient Egypt was a civilization ruled by pharaohs. Egyptians did not call their ruler a pharaoh
before 1554 BC. Pharaoh meant "Great House" in Egyptian and referred to the palace of the
king. We really do not know how many kings ruled in Egypt . Ancient past the country was
split up. There were at least several kings at the same time. There was also kings who ruled
regions of Egypt before recorded history.
How did Egyptians make Pyramid
The pyramid’s are six rectangular structures set one on top of each
other. Beneath the pyramids lie pharaohs and kings. The design of the
pyramids are square’s with four sided triangular sides that rise to a
point. When the pyramids got higher they used ramps to get to the top.
The ancient Egyptian calendar was
invented over 5000 years ago. It
was originally based on the cycle of
12 months. Egyptians grouped into
three seasons of four months each
to the rise and fall of the waters of
the Nile. Although the flooding of
the Nile began each year around
the end of June. The floods
occurred within a range of 80 days
and were not accurate enough to
base a calendar on. So the ancient
Egyptians based the year on the
cycle of its reappearance.
