Mission Impossible: A race against
time
What is the world’s most
dangerous weapon? While
weapons of mass
destruction, biological and
chemical weapons, and
mother nature tops the list,
the CIA and FBI believe that
time travel is number one.
They believe that the group,
ANTI-HISTORY (a small
organization that hates the
study of history) is using a
time machine to change
important events.
• All Agents will be on task for
this one. Each team will be
asked to navigate the Nile
River in two weeks. In order
to effectively navigate the
Nile river, you will need to
complete four tasks. Once
you have completed the
fourth task, you will be
confronted with ANTIHISTORY. Hopefully, you will
be able to bring them back
to the present day.
The Assignment
• Each individual will complete 4 tasks to finish the
simulation
• You will also compete with others within the
classroom to complete the assignment. You will
be grouped with 3 or 4 other individuals.
• Your team leader will be responsible for keeping
track of assignments and where you on the map.
• Everyone is responsible for working hard and
making sure your time is used wisely

STAGE 1: The Gift of
the Nile
1. Create a postcard describing
what life is like on the Nile.
Provide at least three
examples of how the Nile
helps you and your
community.
2. Create a plan to help control
the flooding of the Nile. Using
technology from the time
period, create a blue print to
control the flooding as well as
providing advice where you
should grow your crops, how
to get water to your crops, and
how to store water for future
use.
3. Write a two paragraph letter to
the Pharaoh describing how to
predict the flooding of the
Nile. Be sure to introduce the
Pharaoh to the new calendar
you have invented.
1. Create a poster/timeline
describing the important
events within the dynasties of
Ancient Egypt. You must have
all four time periods to get full
credit. You need at least two
events within each time period
2. Create a children’s ABC book
based on what you believe to
be important about the history
of Ancient Egypt. Be sure to
include one sentence and
illustration on each page.
3. Research and bring in a food to
share that comes from Ancient
Egyptian times. (You will be
using multiple sources
provided by me) You will be
giving a short presentation
about food and drink in
Ancient Egypt, so make sure
you understand what is
available during that time.
