A disruptive, long term condition with
mood swings
Depressed (lows): feel sad or hopeless
and lose interest in most activities
Manic (highs): feel euphoric and full of
energy
Mood shifts range from only a few
times a year to several times a day
Some cases depression and mania at
the same time
Forms of Treatment
Moods can be kept in check by following a
treatment plan
Most cases, bipolar disorder can be controlled
with medications and psychological counseling
Other therapies: Psychotherapy, Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Family
therapy, Group Therapy, Transcranial Magnetic
Stimulation, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
In some cases, people with bipolar disorder
