Historical



The building of Zimniy Theatre in Sochi
was constructed in 1937 according to the
design of the architect K.N.Chernopyatov.
The first in the history of the Winter Theatre
theatrical season was solemnly opened with
the opera “Tzar’s Bride” by N.RimskyKorsakov staged by Moscow Musical
Theatre named after K.S Stanislavskiy and
N.V.Nemirovich-Danchenko on May 15,
1938.
Zimny Theatre features 977 seats
The building erected in neoclassicism style
is surrounded with 88 columns and fits well
into peculiar look of the southern resort.
Open foyer is decorated with a colonnade.
The hall is lit with a huge stamped
chandelier decorated with brightly glittering
crystal.
Historical background
In 2005 the interior has been completely
renovated; during the renovation the
technical equipment, stage curtain, act drop
and arm-chairs were replaced. The
orchestra pit was enlarged, so music bands
and ballet companies with grand orchestras
can perform on the stage of Zimniy Theatre
now. The considerate modern builders saw
to spectators’ comfort. The systems of
heating and air-conditioning were
installed. The stage of the main theatrical
ground of the Resort is never vacant.

Nikolay Petrov, Oleg Tabakov, Paata
Burchuladze, Khibla Gerzmava, Yury
Bashmet, Mikhail Kazakov, Lubov
Kazarnovskaya, Sergey Yursky – the
names of famous actors, singers and
musicians adorn the posters of the Winter
Theatre all year round.

3. Towers on the shifting carriages:
5 PAR -64, and 5Theatre Spot 1000 W. PС from
each side.
4. 2 Follow Spots Сoemar Pilota 1200 are installed in
the front loge (projection room).
5. There is no footlight and border-light.
6. There is no equipment on the gallery, but there are
electric connectors – 16 regulated channels and 3
unregulated.

7. 6 rows of soffits:
- from 1 to 4 soffits - Theatre Stage Lightning
Chromo 2000 W. F. 6 of them are with
scrollers;
- 2 iWASH - 575 coemar;
- 3 iSPOT - 575 coemar;
Every lighting stand has free electric connectors:
-10 regulated;
-8 unregulated;
- from 1 to 3 soffits have flood lights: red,
yellow and blue.
8. Every front light loge is equipped with :
- 4 Theatre Spot 1000 W. PС;
- 3 Theatre Stage Lightning Chromo 2000 W. F;
- 6 PAR-64 with 16 band- pass scrollers;
- 4 iWASH - 575 coemar.

9. Right and left wall plates – 6 regulated
connections and 4 unreulated from each side.

Conditioning system


The foyer and audience hall is conditioning by 2
central air conditioners YORK-YSS installed in
2005. The minimum temperature is +15 С, the
maximum+ 30 С.
In conditioning system the floor–mounted airconditioning units are used.
Electricity supply



The electric power substation “Vereshaginskaya” supplies the Theatre
with the electricity.
Electric power supply 0,4 kW is carried out by means of transformer
substation that is situated in the building of Zimniy Theatre. Two
transformers ( 1000 kW) are installed.
In 2005 an emergency diesel-generator with the capacity of 135 kW
was installed, it is working in the automatic mode. The nominal load
with all inner and activated power users is less than 300 kW, in case of
matched load it amounts to 2 000kW, that allows to connect additional
inner and outer energy users.
