*Now get with a partner – discuss your lists
and create one list together.
*Decide who is going to be the writer – when
name is called come to the board and write
one type of poetry that is not already on the
board.

your mind about your topic.

1. Read your poem – aloud to each other
2. Decide what the theme is AND what it is
about
3. Decide a way to present your poem to
the class in a way that the viewers will
understand what it is about.

1. Take a piece of white paper.
2. Take 3-4 pieces of colored paper.
3. Arrange the colored pieces into a
PICTURE.
4. Glue down colored pieces.
5. Write a poem about your PICTURE.

Acrostic
*A Free verse poem where each letter,
read downwards, forms a WORD.
*Text of the poem describes the word
spelled down.
*There are two types of acrostic poems:
1= written as just words or phrases
2= written as a wrap around sentence
