Purpose of Family Practice
• Graduate a professionally competent
family physician capable of practicing
medicine safely and independently in
Egypt to a comparable level to that of
International Licensing Exams.

Psychiatry: 2 months
Elective: 1 month
Second year:
Pediatric: 4 months
Dermatology: 1 month
Outpatient clinic: 2 months
Obstetric & gynecology: 4 months

Third year:
Surgery: 2 months
ENT: 1 month
Ophthalmology: 1 month
Emergency & orthopedic: 3 months
Outpatient clinic: 4 months
Elective: 1 month

Audit of medical records:
• each trainee will provide an audit of around
ten medical records of patients he served
• this audit will be conducted every FHC
rotation
