1. What is the celestial equator?
2. What is a circumpolar Star?
3. How did Edwin Hubble’s discovery that the Andromeda galaxy was far away and
out side the our own galaxy contribute to astronomer’s knowledge about the size
of the universe?
Activity 2: Mini Lesson We Do: Brain pop video “Galaxies” whole class will review the
quiz at the end of the video.
Activity 3 You Do: Take galaxy notes individually as you complete the Galaxy
worksheet.

Activity 2: Mini lesson Formation of the solar system from study jam or brain
pop videos with video quiz.
Activity 3: I Do/You Do : In groups of 3 or 4 students will brainstorm a list of
facts about the solar system formation. (students should use prior knowledge)

Next You will complete phases of the moon graphic organizer/worksheet.
Closing: Max teaching five minutes post focus write everything you know about the phases of
the moon.

your thoughts (max teaching )

class.

sun.
