The Creature Creation
By: Robert D
Gathering Information
I had to get a creature card, and I got the A card.
It says it eats gas for food, so it can’t be
Mercury or Pluto because they have no
atmosphere, and an atmosphere provides
some type of gas. It can’t be the other 3
terrestrial planets because they have rocky
surfaces. So it is either Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,
or Neptune. Secondly, they’re cold
places(which said on the creature card).
Gathering Information II
I decided to choose the farthest and coldest
planet to the Sun…Neptune. Neptune has an
average temperature of -353 degrees
Fahrenheit(-214 degrees Celsius), and has a
distance of 2,798,000,000
miles!(4,503,000,000 kilometers). It was the
coldest and the farthest ever since Pluto was
classified as a “dwarf planet”.
Neptune
This is a picture of Neptune with its Great Dark
Spot, similar to Jupiter’s Great Red Spot.
Production
Here are the steps I took to create my creature.
Materials: Clay and Harder Clay
Steps: 1. Draw a sketch of the creature
2. Make a prototype out of clay
3. Use the harder clay to make the real model
based on the softer clay prototype.
4. Wait for model and prototype to dry.(make
sure no body parts fall off because some did)
Tools I used
These are the tools I used to get the
information.
1.https://www.google.com(for the search)
2. I used my notes
3.Pencil
4.I used my fingertips
Planets that did not fit the creature
type
Here are the planets that did not fit the creature
type. There are 5 planets that did not mark it
and 3 planets I could’ve used. First, the 5
planets that were off the list.
Not Mercury
Not Venus
Not Earth
Not Mars
Not Pluto Because It’s Terrestrial
Planets I could have used
Here are the planets I might have used.
Might have been Jupiter
Or Saturn
Or Uranus
In Conclusion
In conclusion, the creature on the A card had a
great description for it to live on Neptune. It is
gassy, and is really cold in the negative 300s in
Fahrenheit.
