planning to go to college and play sports, you should
follow the NCAA suggestion coursework.

Must have four years of English Plus Speech, so
4.5 credits in the English Subject
English I, II, III all taken in Sequence. Senior
Year can take English IV or College Placement
English. (CP is weighted)Speech is also taken
their Sr. Year.
Mr. Knox and Mrs. Boughton are our English
Teachers. Both are amazing!!!!

MATHEMATICS








3 Years of Math = 3 Credits, break before college?
Past practice of failed course = retake the entire year.
This puts you behind a whole credit
Math Offered: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry,
Algebra 2/Trig, Calculus, Math IV (Alg2, Calc and
Math IV are all weighted)
Must be taken in sequence through Algebra 2, then
can pick between Calc and Math IV
No Basic Math will be offered anymore unless IEP
Placement Decisions
New Mathematic Department next year!
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
3.5 Credits needed for graduation
 However, must be in physical activity every
semester or have to have PE per state standard

Sports Waiver- must be two consecutive seasons
 No Academic Waiver allowed at this time

Driver’s Education (by birthday of freshmen
class). Classroom portion is required.
 Health- sophomore year
 Mr. Davis and Mr. Collier

SCIENCE


Must have two years of science for graduation:
Physical Science and Biology
3 years for college
Other Sciences offered: Chemistry, Physics or
Advanced Biology (all 3 are weighted classes)
 Mrs. Kellogg is our Science Department!

SOCIAL STUDIES

3.5 Credits of Social Studies:

American History- Junior Year (1 credit)
American Government- Junior (.5 credit)
Geography OR World History (1 credit)
The other .5 can be : Geography I, Geography II,
World History, Current Events
Consumer Economics- Junior Year


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have 1 credit of Art, Music, Language, or
Vocational. Can be taken in Combination
 Colleges are really pushing for 2 years of Foreign
Language or 2 years of sequential above classes.


Electives: 5 ½ Credits.

Can take in any subject and any combination as long
as prerequisites are fulfilled.

