High School Graduation Requirements:
English - 40 credits (4 years)
Math - 30 credits (3 years)
Health - 5 credits (1 semester)
PE - 20 credits (2 years)
Physical Science - 10 credits (1 year)
Biology - 10 credits (1 year)
US History - 10 credits (1 year)
World History/Geography - 10 credits (1 year)
Economics - 5 credits (1 semester)
US Government/Politics - 5 credits (1 semester)
Visual Performing Art or 10 credits (1 year) World Language
Electives - 75 credits (4 years)

What is the CAHSEE?:
The California High School State Exit Exam, or
CAHSEE, is an exam that all students must pass to
graduate.
o Students take it for the first time in 10th grade.
o Must pass both sections: English and Math
o Additional support if students do not pass the
test by their Senior year.

* Students are placed in levels based on past performance, teacher
recommendation, and CST Star tests.

“A – G” UC/CSU Requirements:
• To be eligible for admission, students must
meet subject requirements (“A-G”).
• The “A – G” are the minimum academic
standards for eligibility and do not guarantee
admission.
• All courses taken must be completed with a
semester grade of C or higher and College Prep
(CP) level courses and above.

Hotline: (805) 496 - 6998
o The hotline is open from 7am – 4pm with after
hours message service available.
o Absences are:
o Excused
o 1) illness, 2)medical/dental appointment,
3)funeral/immediate family member (1 day in CA,
3 days out of state)
o Excused with prior permission – must give at least 1 week written notice
o 7 truancies/tardies in any one period could result in a
drop/fail from that class.

Resources - What is Zangle/Q Parent Connect?
Zangle/Q is the grading database for TOHS. Teachers
post grades for you to check through Parent Connect.
o A reflection of the teachers grade book for that
moment in time.
o Keep “tabs” on your student
o Both you and your student can receive a Zangle/Q
password.
