COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
 Many 4-year colleges require 2 years of the same world
language.
 Some colleges also require a year or more of
visual/performing arts. U of MN colleges have this
requirement (band, choir, drawing, painting, etc.).
Some 4-year colleges (such as U of MN) also require
additional credits in math and science.

Students will select two semester courses of science unless a student
elects to take 1 full year of Pre-AP Physical Science.

Science Electives
Grades 9-12 (can receive college credit)
 Principles of the Biomedical Sciences (counts as a Biology
credit)
Explore concepts of biology and medicine to determine factors that led
to the death of a fictional person. While investigating the case,
students examine autopsy reports, investigate medical history and
explore treatments.
 Human Body Systems- Examine interactions of body systems, build
organ/tissues on Maniken, monitor body functions, and solve fictional
medical cases.
 Medical Interventions- Investigate how to prevent, diagnose, and
treat disease. Students learn about the Human DNA, evaluate cancer
treatment. Through fictional cases students are exposed to many
different areas of healthcare.

FACS Department
 Culinary Arts I (previously Exploring Foods)- will provide a foundation
of culinary skills. Students will gain knowledge, skills and
understanding of food preparation techniques and baking methods.
Students will participate in culinary labs that provide hands on
learning experiences.
 Culinary Arts II (previously International Foods)- you will prepare food
from around the world to deepen your understanding of culinary
techniques. Students will participate in a variety of culinary labs that
will move beyond the basics.
 Interior Design and Housing- Learn how to design your own living
space. This course will teach you how to apply the principles and
elements of design to develop interior spaces that meet specific needs.
This course will be project-based with many different studio
assignments that will be done in class.

 Done only on a space available basis.
 We are hiring staff based on the choices you make, so this limits the
changes that can be accommodated.

 If you are interested in taking Online classes next Fall
you need to fill out a separate Online 728 Application
which can be found on the Online 728 website
 If you plan on taking Online classes please do not
double-register for classes between Online and ZHS
classes

 Pre-register for your classes but be aware that your case
manager may adjust your class schedule to better suit
your needs
