earnings, promotion potential, and a sense of
usefulness and purpose
◦ The privilege of independence and the power to
make your own choices
Importance of High
School Completion
Attendance is critical
Self-care is important – time management,
adequate sleep and eating habits.
Build relationships with your teachers.
Come to class on time, prepared, and pay
attention.
Do the classwork – you’ll have less
homework – study for tests.
When you don’t know – ask!
Use the resources available! – counselors,
teachers, tutoring and I-team – they are all
here to ensure your success.
How do we get there?
Excused absences: medical,
court, death in family or
exceptional circumstances.
Parents can write Three (3)
excused absences per
semester.
Procedure for student
returning from absence:
Turn in excuse note to the
attendance office.
Time allowed for Make-up
work—2 days to make up
work when a class is
missed.
Four (4) unexcused
absences will result in a
failing grade. Student will
earn a 59. The student
would still be able to pass
a class depending upon the
exam grade.
