PRINCIPLES OF ART AND DESIGN
Essential 7
 Principles of Design- Use academic vocabulary of the
elements of principles of Design to create an artwork.
Vocabulary
 Division of Space/Balance: How the work is
composed
 Unity: How well the elements work together
 Emphasis: How we get the viewer to see what we
want
Division of Space and balance
Symmetrical
Even on
both
sides
Same
amount
of text
Division of Space and balance
Rule of thirds
Most things
were placed
on the
intersection
s of the lines
for rule of
thirds.
Unity
Repetition
Repetition of the
colors Hot pink
and Black.
Emphasis
Focal point
Drakes face &
Interview title.
Use of
contrasting
colors creates
focal point.
Algebra II
QUADRATIC FUNCTIONS
Essential 6/7
 Demonstrate knowledge of the faces of quadratic
functions and how they all relate; perform all
operations on imaginaries.
Learned
 To solve with quadratic formula
 To solve by factoring
 To change from vertex to standard (vise versa)
 Identifying vertex, Axis of Symmetry & y-intercepts
What is this stuff?
 Quadratic: function in the form of ax²+bx+c
 Eg: 3x²+6x+4
 Imaginary: Number who's square root is less than 1
 Eg: √-9
Importance
 Being able to perform these skills are important
because it will help me to prepare for SAT’s and
future Math classes.
Subgroups
 Vertex form
 Standard form
 Roots
 Quadratic formula
Main Skill
USING THE QUADRATIC FORMULA
Evidence/ Main Skill
Originally did not understand how
to correctly use the quadratic
equation at first.
Error Analysis
After completing an error analysis I figured
out that I got my signs confused causing me
to get the wrong answer, however I still had
one mistake.
How I solved correctly
1.Write OG
equation & get
everything to
left side of
equal side.
3. Solve using
quadratic
formula.
2. Identify
your ( a,b,
and c) terms
4. Add
together what
you got from
previous step.
5. Break up 360
into √36●√10. The
perfect square of
36 is 6.
Final Answers
World History
Essential 6: World War II
 I can identify and explain the causes and outcomes of
World War II.
Flipbook/Genocide editorial
Allowed me to
analyze the
leaders of
WWII as well
as the effects.
Causes of WWII
 The Versailles treaty
 Germany had to accept responsibility
of WWI, Pay money
 World wide depression
 Everyone was in a depression
causing people to take what they
 Rise of militarism
wanted
 Every country wanted the most
 Extreme nationalism
weapons.
 Caused Racism started Genocides
 Invasion of Poland
 Germany invading Poland. Broke the
non aggression pact.
Effects of WWII
 Devastation and loss of life
 Development of nuclear weapons
 Rise of US
 Nuremberg trials
Essential 7: Cold War
 I can identify and explain the causes of the cold war
and its outcome.
Causes
Former Allies separate
YALTA Conference
 Truman (US) upset Stalin
 Meeting between US,
signed non-aggression
pact with Hitler
 Stalin (USSR) upset that
allies delayed invasion.
Britain &USSR
 Ended up dividing
Germany into “Zones of
occupation”
 Had to pay USSR for life &
property loss
Causes cont.
UN created
 50 original nations
 Protected the members
against aggression
 Communism &
capitalism cant exist
together=WAR
Arms Race
 Everyone racing to
develop nuclear
powers/weapons.
Effects of the Cold War
 US & USSR built up lots of atomic weapons
 Conflicts like Vietnam & Korean war arose
 USSR collapsed from economic problems
 Warsaw pact fell apart
 Communism collapsed all over the world
Evidence
 Allegory….
Reflection
Why I should move to 11th
grade
Goals for next year
 Work has not been
 Improve time
extraordinary but
satisfactory
 Improvement in
subjects= time outside
of school
 10th grade=maturity
management=
 Finishing things early
 Improve Study Skills=
 Better grades on tests
