“KLRU sends greetings
to Austin ISD’s Social Studies Department Chairs!
Thank you for the important work you do for Social Studies teachers
and students.
We are aware of the many choices you have in today’s market for
educational resources and wish to express our appreciation to you for
choosing PBS programming to be a part of your instructional media library.
We hope you enjoy the programming clips embedded throughout your
agenda today. Please don’t hesitate to contact our education support staff
should you have any questions...
As we know, this has been an exciting election year and there are few places
in the nation where politics are historically as exciting and interesting as
Texas! We hope you’ll consider making PBS your source for
election news this year and invite you to tune in to KLRU
Texas Monthly Talks next week. Evan Smith, editor of
Texas Monthly magazine, will host a roundtable of political
guests who will examine the election results in Texas
with the type of thoughtful and intelligent analysis for which
PBS is consistently recognized.
Thank you…”

Winston Churchill's quest for his inner self
took two forms: a constant thirst for exotic
travel and a passion for the exuberance of
painting and the beauty of words. His
granddaughter Celia Sandys traveled
extensively with Churchill towards the end of
his life. Now, in this intimate portrait, she
follows in her grandfather's footsteps.

The world's largest democracy
and a rising economic giant,
India is now as well known across the globe
for its mastery of computer technology as it is
for its many-armed gods
and its famous spiritual traditions.
But India is also the world's most
ancient surviving civilization,
with unbroken continuity back into prehistory.
In this landmark six-part series
for PBS and the BBC,
Michael Wood will embark on a dazzling and
exciting journey through today's India,
'seeking in the present for clues to her past,
and in the past for clues to her future'.
