Unit of Credit
Each semester class you pass = .5 credit
Each year long class you pass (2 semesters) = 1.0 credit
Required Course
→ Specific course or credit required to graduate
→ You must pass all of these classes in addition to earning 24 credits.
If you fail a required class, you must retake it until you pass .
Elective Course
→ Courses you choose to take for credit but not specifically required for
graduation.
→ If you fail an elective it is not necessary to retake it for credit.

DUAL ENROLLMENT
*Student enrolls in college credit classes at St. Charles Community College, UMSL or Lindenwood.
Only college credits are earned for these courses, no high school credit.
• Enrollees must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Students must be at FHC at least 4 periods
*4 periods at FHC = 6 college hrs
(normally 2 courses)
*5 or more periods at FHC = 3 college hrs
(normally 1 course)

ADDING AND DROPPING CLASSES
Regular classes can only be changed within the first 10
days of each semester.
Classes dropped after the 10 day limit, will result in a
grade of “F” for the semester.

Summer School Options
Summer School is remedial with exception
of the following:
– Keyboarding
– Web Page Design
– Personal Finance
Students must have completed 10th grade
– Weight Training 1,2,3 and 4
– Team Sports
Students must have successfully completed 9th grade PE to take
Team Sports and Weights

A+ Program
•Attend a designated A+ School for three consecutive
years immediately prior to graduation.
•Graduate with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Achieve proficient or advanced on the Algebra 1 End
of Course Exam (class of 2015 and beyond)
•Maintain an overall attendance rate of at least 95% for
all four years of high school (miss less than 35 days).
•Participate in 50 hours of unpaid peer mentoring or
tutoring, to be arranged and supervised by FHSD
(takes place junior year).
•Maintain a record of good citizenship

 Credits Required:
– 27 credits required
 Successfully complete four credits in each of the Core areas (Math,
Communication Arts, Science and Social Studies)
 Earn “Proficient” and/or “Advanced” rating on three out of four End of Course
(EOC’s) exams
 Score minimum of 27 ACT
Students will wear a medallion and Cum Laude honors will be announced at
graduation
 Summa Cum Laude – Gold medallion
 Magna Cum Laude – Silver medallion
 Cum Laude – Bronze medallion
A sticker will be placed on diploma indicating the appropriate honor.
