Britain and France
declared war on the
Axis Powers.
They
initiated a
defensive war.

France
mobilized
behind Maginot Line
England sent an
expeditionary force to
take up defensive
positions in France.
They set up a naval
blockade and ordered
increase in
production of planes
and tanks.
Germany Takes Europe
To
break the Naval
blockade
Germany
parachuted airborne
infantry into Norway
and Denmark and
captured them.
Denmark was
defeated in 1 day
and Norway in 2
months.

That
only left the
Netherlands and
Belgium, and France
free of German
occupation.
France continued to
build up forces behind
the Maginot Line.

Germany
went
through the
Netherlands and
Belgium, and then
France.
With
no air force to
stop them, France

weeks.
