Types of Images
Graphic images that have been
processed by a computer can usually
be divided into three distinct
categories: bitmap files, vector
graphics and Meta file graphics.
Bitmap images and vector images are
commonly used in computer graphics
than the Meta- file graphics.
Bitmap Images
Bitmap image is a collection of
bits that form an image. The
image consists of a matrix of
individual dots (or pixels) that
all have their own color.

Vector Graphics
Vector graphics are images that are described using
mathematical definitions. Vector image is stored as lines
and curves .

Meta-file Graphics
Metafile graphics are simply 2D graphics that are made
up of both vector and bitmap. Metafile graphics are
constructed by drawing the graph using vector graphics
and by filling it with a bitmap pattern
