Motivation & Expectation
’05
Main motivation for joining ISERN:
Difficult (if not impossible) to do empirical work in isolation
Would like to be part of a community of like-minded researchers
During graduate school (studying with Vic Basili) got the chance to
interact with some ISERN members
Interesting and beneficial to work with researchers who have different
(but related) interests
Interested in collaborations
Expectations
Interact with more experienced researchers
Form collaborations that would not otherwise occur
Obtain deeper understanding of topics through coordinated and
replicated studies
Contribution & Collaboration
Planned contributions to the community:
Strengthen exisiting collaborations
Form new collaborations
Expertise of other faculty members in my department
