Branding is the adoption of awareness, quality and image of
your product. This also differentiates your product from the
competitors. A name, term, symbol, or design that signifies
your particular product, this represents your BRAND. Branding
is a great tool because it differentiates your product form
competitors and to target your segments.
Products have been branded so well that we use them to
classify products under there name. The first thing that pops
up into mind is obviously the iPod, McDonalds, Abercrombie
and Xbox.
Persuasive Advertising- To encourage brand switching..
Pioneering Advertising- To introduce a new product..
Competitive Advertising- to compete with other competitors..
Here we are going to introduce the 5 M’s of marketing these are essential to a
products success because they promote and sell your product..
Mission- the objectives you are looking to reach
Money- Obviously what you need to get started to pay for the campaign
Message- what you are looking to get to the consumer
Media- you choose the media that you would like to obtain
Measure- measure the volume of your success, set goals..
Print Media- Newspaper and magazines- the advantages of it being mass marketed and
everyone seeing it, disadvantages are that it may not be seen and you may not be
targeting the right audience.
Television- as seen on TV- same advantages as print media, disadvantages again would
be that you may not be targeting the right marketing
Radio- on the net- Advantages would be that most people hear it, and the radio has a
wide market. The disadvantages of this would be you may not find the right market but
you may find the right person.
Cinema- Movies- in my opinion this would be a great way to advertise because I think
this works very well. Disadvantages would be that again depending on what you are
advertising may be the wrong consumers.
Outdoors-Biliboards- again I think this is a great way to advertise, many people see it
everyday and if looks good enough chances are it will work for you.
Internet-The web- This has pros and cons, the internet has many users and people use
social media as a marketing place all over, but there are cons, one of them are that you
may not get the results because you do not know who sees and it may jeopardize goal
setting.
McDonald's does an amazing job marketing
there food by putting the product in the
spotlight in the commercial. Quite honestly at
the end of the commercial I'm sure everyone
feels like picking up a Mcmuffin or a sandwich
of your choice.
Old spice also does an awesome job
showing there product in a fun way, they
gran your attention and grasp what they
are selling. They using competitive
advertising.
