How long does a resume reviewer spend

What must be in the top half of the first page?

Only use statistics in your resume IF you
can prove you personally did them

The purpose of the cover letter
– To cause me to want to read your resume
– To provide an opportunity for you to shoot yourself in the foot










Limit the letter to one page
Address your letter to a real person - spell the name right
Don’t use platitudes – “I’m a quick learner, honest, hard working etc.”
Display your knowledge of the company and its problems.
What value do you bring?
Show your interest in the position
Describe specific skills
Give examples of your accomplishments
Tell them you will call them for an interview
Say thank you
