Write a short persuasive essay about why it is important to take care of our natural resources.
Make a poster that encourages people to recycle. Tell why it is important to conserve
resources.
Research what crops are grown in TN. Draw a map of our state and draw pictures of the crops
on the map in the area in which they are grown. Include a map key with symbols.
Resources are used to produce energy such as hydroelectric dams, wind turbines, and nuclear
reactors. Draw a picture of one of the forms of production & write a caption to describe how it
works.
Think about the natural resources you use in one day. Draw a picture of yourself using 3
natural resources and write a caption describing how you could conserve or replace these
resources.
People may change the physical environment to make travel easier. Create a timeline showing
when different forms of transportation were introduced, including the railroad, car, & airplane.
Invent a new & faster form of transportation. Draw a picture of your new improved form of
transpiration & include a caption that describes how it improves travel & transportation.
Think of an example of how the land has been modified in order to build something in the
community. Cutting down trees, moving rocks, making tunnels, or draining lakes are types of
modifications. Draw a before & after picture to illustrate the change.
There are positive & negative effects of modifying the land. Write your opinion explaining
why decisions to modify land should be made carefully. Once the land is modified it usually
cannot be returned to its natural state.
