Rock formation
• These formations are usually the result of
weathering and erosion sculpting the
existing rock.
Erosion
• Erosion is the process of weathering and
transport of solids in the natural
environment or their source and deposits
them elsewhere.
Weathering
• Weathering is the breaking down of Earth's
rocks, soils and minerals through direct contact
with the planet's atmosphere.
• Two important classifications of weathering
processes exist — physical and chemical
weathering.
Rock formations
• Rock formations includes isolated, scenic,
or spectacular surface rock outcrops.
Rock formations
• The term 'rock formation' can also refer to
specific sedimentary strata or other rock
unit in stratigraphic and petrologic studies.
• A rock structure can be created in any
rock type or combination
