Policy coherence between EU Development Policy
and EU Global Biodiversity Target: importance
of environmental sustainability (MDG 7), for
long-term poverty reduction and human
development.

Conclusions from TEEB reports needs to be brought forward
into the debate and effectively followed up, thus increasing
funding for biodiversity
Belgian Presidency should promote coherence between EU’s
spending and commitments made to reduce carbon emissions
by 2020, thus climate-proofing and energy efficiency-proofing
all EU funds. This also implies eliminating harmful subsidies.
10 Green Demands:
Health and environment
Ensure ambitious action on environmental health,
including the preparation of a second Health and
Environment Action Plan and the follow-up of the
Biocide Legislation, with a specific focus on air
pollution and chemicals.
