What is Earth Hour?
Every year, all around the world, people, cities
and businesses turn off their lights for one
hour to show that they care about protecting
our planet.
LONDON
PARIS
HONG KONG
Why Earth Hour?
Our planet is facing the biggest challenge it has
ever faced: climate change!
The coal power stations that give us electricity
are polluting the atmosphere and using a lot of
our precious water.
So each time we leave the lights on
unnecessarily, we add to the amount of power
they need to make, and the amount of pollution
they create!
Earth Hour allows us to take some time to think
about the effect our electricity use has on the
planet.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
For one hour this week, turn off the lights!
Every small change we each make can make a
huge difference overall.
Talk to your friends and family about what
climate change means and what we can all do to
make a difference.
EACH OF US HAS THE
POWER TO SAVE THE
EARTH!
WHAT will you DO?
