10 Solutions for Climate
Change
There are many lifestyle changes that
can help reduce your carbon impact.
Thought all of them might not be right
for you, it could be good for someone
else. With a whole nation trying to
slow climate change, it will make a
difference. You have to contribute and
every individual will challenge
themselves too.
1. Forego Fossil fuels






Elimination the burning oil,
coal and the later, the natural
gas, is the first challenge
This is the hardest challenge
to overcome because people
work, play, wear and sleep
on things made from
fossilized sunshine
For reducing reliance on fossil
fuels try using:
plant-derived plastics
Biodiesel
wind power
2. Infrastructure Upgrade





One third of all greenhouse gas emissions
are because of building worldwide
Power demands are rising
Bad roads can lower the fuel economy(even
the most efficient cars)
Investing in new infrastructure would help
reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Copper mining and other elements need
electrical wiring, causing global-warming
pollution
3. Moving Closer to Work





Transportation is the top 2nd
greenhouse gas emissions in
the U.S.
Use a bus, walk of cycle
Cutting down long distance
travel would help too
Planes are one of the
sources of global-warming
pollution
Trains could replace planes
in short of medium distance
trips
4. Consume Less




Simplest way is to buy
less
Use a reusable grocery
bag
When buying groceries,
buying in bulk
lessen the amount of
waste-plastic bags,
cardboard boxes and
other unneeded materials
5. Be Efficient





Do more with less
Turn off the lights when you leave the
room
Maintain your car well
If you’re getting a new car get a used
car or a hybrid
Use more efficient fridges, air
conditioners and other appliances
6. Eat Smart, Go
Vegetarian?




you won’t know how far a
food produce has traveled
less land to grow crop than
feed livestock(more room
for trees)
meat-eating people make
1.5 tons more greenhouse
gases than vegetarians
(America)
you don’t know how far a
food produce has traveled
7. Stop Cutting Down
Trees





Every year 33 million acres of forests
are cut down
20% of human-made greenhouse gas
emissions
buy used wood products
wood certified to have been
sustainable harvested
recycle paper
8. Unplug





Buy energy-efficient electronics
rechargeable batteries
use efficient fluorescent lightbulbs
instead of the old ones
unplug computers, battery chargers,
televisions, stereo equipment
switched off devices use more
electricity than when on
9. One Child




More humans mean more greenhouse
gas emissions
estimated about 54 acres to sustain an
average human being now
food, clothing, and other needs are
taken from the planet
one child per couple would lessen
greenhouse gas emissions
10. Future Fuels





Replacing fossil fuels may be the great
challenge of the 21st century
hydrogen must be created having either
natural gas of electricity to crack water
molecules
biodiesel hybrid electric cars may be the
best transportation in the future
hyperefficient photovoltaic cells
solar energy stations
