SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
FOR INTELLIGENT ENERGY
In Wladyslaw Szafer’s Primary School No 4 in Elk
ENERGY EVERYWHERE AROUND US
SCHOOL CAMPAIN FOR INTELLIGENT ENERGY

Our school provides a systematic environmental education. The
project „Energy everywhere around us” began in spring 2008 focused
the school curriculum to energy issues.

Our activities with
students were
accompanied by a
superior goal –
promoting the idea of
saving electricity.

 The final result of the
project was a special energy
label designed by our
student Dominika. She won
the competition for the
most interesting energy
label. The labels were
handed to all students in the
school. They could stick
them to their PCs or other
electronic equipment at
home.

During the campaign we prepared three lesson plans related
to the topics of climate change and renewable energy
sources:
„Energy – one word – many meanings”
„Can we find a dinosaur in the woods?”
„Climate is changing – Let’s change ourselves”

During the lecture of Michal Polakowski "Wind power plants - the prospect
for the future, whether the threat to nature?" our students learned the
significance of wind farms and their influence on nature.

 Students from grades 1 to 6 solved math problems
“ bulb or fluorescent lamp?”
 Students calculated what is more profitable : using
one fluorescent lamp for 14 zl for 15 years or buying
traditional bulb for 2 zl and durability around one
year?
ENERGETIC AUDIT

 The audit was conducted in late December 2008 and January 2009 by
participants of Eco-friends Club. They assessed the condition of
school building in terms of energy absorbed and lost .

The results of audit were handed to Elk Mayor during the final meeting
for summing up the campaign.

Survey on how students‘ attitude has changed under the
influence of campaign

The results confirm that it is worth to educate our children.
 Most of them turn off computers, printers, televisions, phone
chargers out of the socket. They also turn off the light when they
leave the room and fill the water to cook no more as needed.

Paris citizens can not

their heads for a long

school to search for intelligent energy

recorded windmills, solar panels
and water mills.

 On January 29th, 2009 a play „Judgement on a Man”
was presented in front of our students and invited
quests.

We accused a man of causing adverse climate change.

 During the presentation, the audience and the accused learned
how to prevent these changes.
EFFECTS OF CAMPAIGN
SCHOOL CAMPAIN FOR INTELLIGENT ENERGY
 All our students became familiar with a problem of climate
change.
 We improved our ICT competence – using the Internet, operating
graphics and text editors.
 We developed our imagination, manual and verbal dexterity,
mathematical and photographic ability.
 We made our students identify with problems of energy sources in
our school.

 Staging „Court over a man”received the grand prize of
Ministry of Environment in the competition for the most
interesting eco-lesson plan.

EFFECT OF CAMPAIGN
SCHOOL CAMPAIN FOR INTELLIGENT ENERGY
 We engaged in a contest "Opened School" announced by the
Education Department. Our school campaign got the final. On
November 27th, 2009 the finalists met at the building of Sejm in
Warsaw. We received a prize and an honorable mention from hands
of Madam Katarzyna Hall Minister of National Education in the
category of "global education".
