In this brief report of progress we will explain;
1. How much of the work is complete
2. What part of the work is currently in progress
3. What work remains to be done
4. What problems and unexpected things have
arisen
5. How the project is going in general

Introduction
The project aim is to integrate interdisciplinary
CLIMASP courses into existing undergraduate
disciplines to provide undergraduate students from
different majors the flexibility to select courses to
enhance their interests in climate change.
The Tasks;
The following tasks were requested;
1. Identifying staff to be involved and setting-up the
institutional design team.
2. Mapping and analyzing barriers and drivers to
multiple-stakeholders’ involvement.
3. Participating in the national training workshops.
4. Identifying the courses mapped to be considered
in CLIMASP program (course mapping).
5. Categorization of the potential courses in terms of
the three key areas.
6. Other related tasks; lab, equipments, …. etc.

Mapping and analyzing barriers and drivers to
multiple-stakeholders’ involvement
Barriers and Drivers to Multiple-Stakeholders' involvement were
mapped and analyzed;
The survey was conducted
The interviewed stakeholders include;
1. University: students, staff, administrators;
2. Government agencies: Jerash governorate, Higher
education institutions accreditation committee, Jerash
Agriculture Directorate, Civil Defence Directorate, Royal
Environment Protection Administration and Ministry of
Education.
3. Associations: Farmers Union, Agricultural Engineers
Association.
4. Civic
society:
Handicap
International,
Charitable
Organization.
Out of 19 questionnaires only 15 were considered.
The results were summarized in one template (presentation 2).

Task 3; National training workshops;
Jerash university team;
participated in the first CLIMASP national training
workshop; The University of Jordan/ 19th and 20th
March 2014.
Now the team is participating in the second
CLIMASP
national
training workshop;
The
Hashemite University/ 16th , 17 and 18th June 2014.
Task 4 & Task 5; Course Mapping & Categorization;

The courses mapped to be considered in the
CLIMASP program were identified.
45 courses were identified and categorized in terms
of the three key areas; (Presentation 4)
- Climate Change, Environment and Society;
- Climate Change, Economics and Public Policy;
- Climate Change, Sciences and Technology.

What part of the work is currently in progress?
Allocating a special office for CLIMASP team; the
office will be allocated temporarily in the university's
Counseling , Training and Continuing Education Center.
Awareness Campaigns; Preparations are taking place
to create awareness campaigns targeting students by
Heads of academic departments under supervision of
the deans in cooperation with the CLIMASP in the
university as well as the Department of Admission and
Registration Unit.
Revision of Study Plans and Courses Involved: teams
were selected in each academic department to revise
study plans in cooperation with CLIMASP team in the
university (nearly 40% of the plans ; already revised).
Communicating Ministry of Higher Education;
concerning study plans modifications.
Planning the initial structure of the interdisciplinary
CLIMASP courses integration into existing disciplines.

Our late involvement is the most important
challenge but we are doing our best.

The project is at the beginning . So far every thing is OK.
