– ICTs currently use approximately 2% of global energy and
their demand for and use of energy is increasing
• ICT Enablement
– £500 billion savings from use of ICT’s across all sectors by
2020 (GeSI Smart 2020)
• ICTs can off set own energy use by up to 5 times
