1. Strengthening national capacities to respond to Climate Change in
Vietnam, reducing vulnerability and controlling GHG emissions –
TA to MONRE and MARD on policy formulation, piloting climate
change adaptation/GHG mitigation
2. Strengthening capacity for Disaster Risk Reduction in Vietnam,
especially Climate Change related risks (MARD) – technical
assistance for strengthening and creating national and pilotprovince based DRR centres for better information management,
coordination, and mitigation of the effects of climate related
disasters.
3. UN REDD (Reduction of emission from deforestation and
degradation) – MARD

• Through awareness raising (e.g. in Lam Dong province) for local
communities will better understand what climate change is all
about and how they can help fight it through reforestation
• Participatory carbon monitoring; increasing carbon stocks
• Avoiding deforestation support to local farmers to maintain and
protect ecosystems, and the vital ecosystem services

• Promote for better strategic adaptation planning at all level
• CC scenarios and financing for CC (negotiation, coordination…)

• Support to mainstream CC into the SEDP process
